My top favorite thing about summer is indeed watermelon. Or should I say, WATERMELON! I really love watermelon. I'm on my fourth one this season and it's just hubby and me. In fact, one of my resolutions is to eat 30 watermelons this year. It's a weird resolution that my daughter challenged me to do on a BINGO New Year's Resolution Card. I don't think it should be a problem.
Anyway, over at
Shopping Our Stash this round their theme is "Sweet." So naturally I chose watermelons! And since my sentiment is quite large, I'm also entering it over at
Word Power Challenge. And because the
Color Hues Challenge this time is Coral and Green, and my watermelons are in the coral family, it's being entered there too. And over at
Never Before Used Schtuff (NBUS) they are celebrating their 75th challenge and giving away three $25.00 gift cards to any company of your choice. Wowza! And since I haven't used this set yet, I'm entering it over there too!

I'm with you on the watermelons, Barb! I grew up in Iowa and the watermelons (which didn't come into season this early) were so incredible! I've never had a good one out here in California and I didn't know there were good ones in Florida. Lucky you! Even when I go back to visit my sisters, they aren't the same unless you grow them yourself. I think they pick them so early for the stores. Anyhoodle, I can go off on a tangent like nobody's business, can't I?! Your card coloring is perfect for these delicious fruits! Thank you for inspiring everyone to use their NBUS and good luck in my prize drawing! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteDarnell, I never thought about not getting good watermelons. We are blessed here in Florida, but I also lived in PA for 17 years and enjoyed them there. I would love to grow them myself, but I don't think I'd water them enough. Perhaps I spend too much time crafting! Thanks so much for stopping by! I always enjoy your challenges! :)
Delete30 watermelons is a year! Now that is a challenge I have never heard before. LOL. Well, this wonderful card should account for one at least. A wonderful direction to go with our colors. Thanks for joining us at Color Hues and best of luck.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Nancy! :)
DeleteThank you so much Diane! :)
ReplyDeleteYour card certainly speaks to your love for watermelon! Eye-catching and mouth-watering! I'm sure you'll succeed in your 30 watermelon challenge, as you obviously love the fruit, both in 'real' life and with your design choices. Fun! Thank you for joining us at Colour Hues.

Oh Maxine, that would be hard for me! Although other foods affect me that way! Thanks for you kind words! :)
DeleteSWEET card Barb and good luck on the 30 watermelons challenge! (I love watermelon too, so don't think it would be a problem for me either!) You used our challenge colors beautifully on this wonderful card...it really stands out in the gallery! Thanks so much for sharing this SWEET card with us at Color Hues!! Marcia (DT) :0)
ReplyDeleteMarcia, so glad to know that I'm not the only watermelon lover! Thanks so much for stopping by and for your kind words! :)
DeleteThank you Deb! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun summery card with the watermelon! I love it, too, but always disappointing when it isn't nice and firm.
