Word Art Wednesday Weeks #762 & #763

Welcome back to another week at Word Art Wednesday! This week is a little bit different in that our sponsor is a UK based company called Stix 2 Anything. Having said that, I’m taking the easy way out this week. I have created a card front using the scripture and an image that I generated with AI on an app called ChatGPT. Normally, I do most of my digital designs on an app called Canva, which I totally love. I think they must have millions of images to choose from. But I wanted something very specific for this Bible verse so I asked ChatGPT to create some images for me. The first two were really good, but they were a little darker than I wanted them to be. I went ahead and included them because it was a rainy day and it just seemed to be fitting. But it is July and ultimately I wanted something bright and sunny so I asked one more time and it created this girl in front of the sun. I’m really pleased with the finished product.

Feel free to use any of these images below. And of course you can also use our scripture. But keep in mind you never have to use any of these things in order to play along with us. We are always an “Anything Goes” challenge!

For my card here today, I printed out the graphic at my local FedEx store. I then trimmed it down and mounted it on Stampin’ Up!’s Pretty Peacock Card Stock. I then cut out a scallop square using the Stampin’ Up! Square Dies. The pink piece of paper that I have imposed with a Darice embossing folder is from Lawn Fawn called Ballet Slippers. The card base is Pretty Peacock again. Easy peasy!

Oh The Joys....

Today's card is a super-simple card that I made using a printable that I created in Canva. It's a short scripture that is designed to remind us of the joys of heaven waiting for us as believers in Jesus. 

I simply printed the scripture out (at FedEx, but you can certainly use a home printer as well) and trimmed it. I mounted it on Stampin' Up!'s Old Olive card stock, then on their Blushing Bride Card Stock. I finished it off with ten self-adhesive pearls from Jolee's. I know they will cost extra postage, but sometimes I can't help myself if it makes something extra pretty!

Four Cards

I've spent most of the past two weeks finishing up my scrapbooks. Things that I've kept in boxes for too many years finally made it into albums and everything is documented. It makes me feel so good to preserve these memories for my kids. But boy was it a big job!

After cleaning up my craft area from all that, I was able to create four cards in total. They aren't for any particular challenges, just trying to get some scraps off my desk.

The first one on the left started with that patterned paper. I had a strip of it laying on my desk and created this sympathy card. The stamp and sentiment are both my Verve Stamps.

The second card is a digital image I created in Canva. It's an uplifting Bible verse reminding us that our help comes from the Lord. I thought that would really encourage someone. The PDF is available below for you to print out and use on your own greeting card-or just send the image to someone electronically.

And lastly, the two cards with the goat is one of my favorites. My son took this adorable picture of a goat at a dairy farm in Malaysia. I have been smitten with him ever since I first saw this photo. I thought it would encourage someone to just be themselves, like this goat! He too is available to print out and use on a card of your own too.

Word Art Wednesday Weeks 716-717

Hi there, crafty friends! Today's card is made using Word Art Wednesdays Bible verse that says, "I will meditate also of all thy work, and talk of thy doings." The way I like to think about this verse is "think about all God has done for me and talk about all God has done for me." 

Sometimes it's easy to get scared of life. At least it is for me. I've been having foot problems for a few years and I finally went and got an MRI this week. Truthfully, I'm scared of the results. What if it's something really bad? What if they don't find anything at all and they think I'm crazy? (That wouldn't be the first time.) And will I be able to easily afford the bill for all of this?

That's where scriptures like this really come in handy. Think about what God has done in my life and talk about it. I think that second part is really important because it has such an impact on how our minds work. When we're talking about our problems or unhappiness, it brings us down. But when we talk about the things of God we're encouraged.

One other confession. You've heard the saying, "there is always, always something to be grateful for." Secretly I sometimes think, "there is always, always something to be worried about." But that doesn't please God and I know it. He wants me to think (and say) "there is always, always something great that He has done in my life." I'm working on that, starting now!

Andyway, today's card is made using the Word Art Wednesday scripture, paired with a digital design that I created. It's a freebie for you to use below. You'll notice that there's a row of flowers on the bottom of my design that didn't make it to this card. That's because I bought some really great, and much wanted, arch dies from Pink & Main. I'm blessed to live only 35 minutes from their store in Palmetto, Florida. The arch dies have been on my want list for so long, and I knew they would be great when cutting out this picture. The trouble is that the picture was just a wee bit small and some of the white showed on the edges. So I used the next smaller die, but that had to eliminate the flowers on the bottom. I'm still pleased with how this turned out though.

Jeremiah 29:11 Greeting Card Printables

Who doesn't love the Bible verse in Jeremiah 29:11? It seems like everyone who is familiar with the verse clings to it, myself included. What I love is that it reminds us that God does have a plan for our lives. And it's a good plan. Sometimes it can really seem like that's not the case, but this verse reminds us otherwise.

When I sent these out to be printed at FedEx, I made two of them because that's how much room I had on the sheet of paper. I'm glad I did. I know that it will be really easy to mail these out and will probably want to make more.

To finish the cards off, I used some paper doilies from Stampin' Up!, then mounted the image on their Pear Pizzazz card stock and then on their Bubble Bath card stock. I added flat glitter dots that I believe I got from the Dollar Tree. 

These measure about 6.5 x 4.75, but you can make the design any size you want and of course make the cards any size you want also.

Word Art Wednesday Weeks 687 & 688

Over at Word Art Wednesday this time around they have a beautiful scripture that's perfect not only for Valentine's Day but absolutely any day of the year. It speaks of God's love for us, and who doesn't want to be reminded of that!

I did a digital take on this card and love the finished piece. I think the design doesn't take away from the scripture, which is the most important thing. Feel free to grab the freebie below and use it to make an encouraging card for someone.

I just used red card stock, an embossing folder from Darice, and Stampin' Up!'s Soft Suede card stock.

Word Art Wednesday Guest Designing!

I'm so excited to once again be a guest designer over at Word Art Wednesday for the month of September! This first week has a beautiful scripture from 1 Samuel 12:24. It's a great reminder that we need to remember all the wonderful things God has done for us. Sometimes it's so easy for me to just dwell on the things that I'm still struggling with and to forget the things that He has brought me through.

If you want to get this scripture to use in a design, it's available over at Word Art Wednesday, so feel free to go over there and download it. There are so many fun things to do with these digital verses. The background has already been removed, so it looks great over a photo that you've taken, incorporated into a digital design like I've done here, or just print it out and use it on a card!

My design, which was created to mimic stained glass in the background, is also available for free for your personal use if you like. All you have to do is grab it from the page here, size it accordingly (mine is a 5 x 7 greeting card) and print it out.

I like to use Fed Ex for my printing. For less than $1.00 they print an 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper and you can get two of these printed on that size. But printing from home works too if your printer is up for it. Mine always seems to be out of ink! 

After printing out my image, I trimmed it and mounted it on black card stock. The only extra embellishments I used were three turquoise rhinestones to give it a bit of bling.

Word Art Wednesday, Weeks 649 & 650

Well it's been a busy time around here with an out-of-state graduation and all other things summer. But thankfully I'm getting this card in just in time over at Word Art Wednesday Weeks 649 & 650. I snagged their digital Bible Verse and added some other graphics to create this card. 

The verse made me think of a sweet woman who puts this verse into practice. And what a beautiful verse it is. How wonderful for our speech to be filled with grace and seasoned with salt as we talk to one another. It's a real art and we need to rely on the guidance of the Holy Spirit as we talk. 

In addition to the digital design that I made, I used a piece of Stampin' Up! Rose Red card stock and a couple pieces of vintage string for the top. It's a simple card that will be just right for someone special, probably from the Angel Card Project.

2 Corinthians 4:16 Card

This Bible verse 2nd Corinthians says "Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day."

If you're young, you may not feel the "wasting away" part too much, but as I get older, I sure do! But inwardly I'm growing. And that's what this scripture reminded me of, that as Christians we are constantly growing and being renewed each day.

The flowers and garden tools on this card are designed to go with the scripture. I hope it encourages you and those that you'll share it with. It would be an especially perfect card for a gardener too.

Do some days seem just so mundane? They certainly do for me. Some days I just want to get through it and hope for a better tomorrow. And the funny thing is, there’s nothing wrong with this day. I’m just  taking it for granted and not even realizing the beauty that it holds.

This verse encourages me to come up a little higher and truly rejoice in each day. Even the mundane ones!

A Flowery Giraffe

What prompted me to make this card was someone in The Angel Card Project needed some prayer and encouragement-and she loves giraffes. I don’t have the first giraffe stamp, so I designed this card. It’s a simple design thanks mounted on a piece of brown card stock. It’s my hope that this guy makes that special someone a bit happier when she gets this card.

Word Art Wednesday Weeks #631 & #632

Today's card started with a beautiful Bible verse from Word Art Wednesday. This one really spoke to my heart this week. I've had some medical issues come up, and I think everything's all right now, but going through stuff can be scary. It's times like that that I really need to trust God, not just in this life but for the next. That's what I love so much about this verse is that it reminds us that, yes, we will have tribulation in this world, but to be of good cheer, for Jesus has overcome the world. Even though I'd rather not have any tribulation, it doesn't seem to be the way it works. But what a comfort Jesus gives us!

Anyway, I'm just getting this card in at the last minute so I decided to go totally digital with it, and to keep the assembly simple. I just trimmed it and mounted it on a piece of Wild Wheat Card Stock by Stampin' Up!

Flowery Philippians 4:4 Card

Here's a sweet, flowery card that's a great reminder for someone who loves the Lord. I think Philippians 4:4 can sometimes be a difficult verse, especially if someone is going through something very difficult. I don't want to throw this verse around too carelessly. Although it is what God's Word says, I want to always use the right scripture at the right time.

After printing out the artwork at FedEx, I trimmed it and mounted it on a piece of black card stock. Then I laid some black lace sticker tape on the top and the bottom, mounting the framed piece on top. It's finished off with 5 inexpensive rhinestones from Michaels.

Since this card is a little bigger than usual (mine here is 5.25 x 7.25), I'm mailing it in a clear envelope. Because of the envelope and the rhinestones, I'll have to put a "non-machinable" rate stamp on it. They cost a little more, but it's fun to send something that's so colorful for everyone to see.

Fall Freebie Philippians 4:4a

Here's a sweet fall leaf with the Bible verse Philippians 4:4 on it.

I just printed out this Digital Freebie, cut it out and mounted it on Stampin' Up!'s Cajun Craze card stock. Using SU!'s Flowering Vines Dies, I cut a square out of Speckletone True White and used adhesive spray (and a little bit of painted Elmer's Glue on the edges to hold down the delicate die cut.

A bit of chiffon ribbon simply folded gives it an elegant touch. All were mounted on a piece of Cajun Craze card stock again to tie the look together.

Snag the Digital Freebie below, place it in Word (PC) or Pages (Mac). Size it accordingly and print it out. I had this commercially printed at Fed Ex and an 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper cost just .68 cents. I can get 6 to a page for that price. Such a good deal!

Use any supplies you have on hand. You can even cut the leaves out and mount them on card stock or patterned paper. Have fun and enjoy!
