Word Art Wednesday #772 & #773 with Creative Worship Giveaway

Hi there creative friends! Today I'm sharing with you a wonderful scripture that we have for you to download for free over at Word Art Wednesday.

And this round, our wonderful sponsor is Creative Worship Stamps. They are giving away a $25.00 gift certificate to their store, and there are truly so many wonderful things there! One thing I love and want to do next time is to use some ot their amazing digital downloads. However I had already made this card for our challenge, so I'll have to use them next time.

My card today is really simple, relying on patterned papers to give it a warm autumn feel.

I love the scripture that Karen M. created, and wanted to give it center stage on this card. The coordinating envelope is a nice touch that was so easy to create. I simply used a glue stick to fully cover the back of the flap, then I placed a square piece of paper down over it, let it dry then cut it out.

Here's my supply list for this project:

  • Word Art Wednesday Scriputre
  • Stampin' Up! Basic Beige Card Stock
  • SU! Secret Sea Card Stock
  • SU! Petal PInk Card Stock
  • SU! Painterly Pear Patterned Papers
  • A7 Envelope (Michaels)

We'd love to have you join us this round over at Word Art Wednesday. You don't need to use our scripture or products from our sponsor. And our theme is always "anything goes," so grab some supplies and join in the fun!

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Word Art Wednesday 770 & 771 with Gina K. Giveaway!

Hello stamping friends! It's time for another round of fun over at Word Art Wednesday, and this time our $25.00 prize is from a great company called Gina K! I don't have any of her stamps (due to unfortunate financial limitations 😅) but I've seen her on YouTube and not only are her products really great, she has amazing ways of using them. If you get a chance, check out her channel HERE.

And by all means, come over and play along with us! You can use any products that you have, and you are free to use our Word Art like I did here, but you're not obligated to in order to play along. We are always "anything goes!"

When I first saw the scripture for this round, I immediately thought, once again, of making some offering envelopes. On the 5th Sunday of the month, our church collects money for ministries that help the poor, and I thought this would be a great way to save a little and make a donation.

I created three 4" x 7"  envelopes, starting with some 12 x 12 patterned paper. It was a lot of fun doing these because I could use thick pop up dots and lots of embellishments without having to worry about them making it through the mail.

Here is my starting paper:

And here's my supply list:

  • Word Art Wednesday Scripture (above)
  • Michael's Patterned Paper
  • Stampin' Up! Envelope Board Maker
  • Forest Green Card Stock (Amazon)*
  • Michaels Light Purple Card Stock
  • Papertrey Spring Rain Card Stock
  • Sizzix Border Dies (559200)
  • SU! Faceted Dots
  • SU! Gold Thread
  • SU! Blushing Bride Card Stock
  • Misc. Gold Elastic Twine
  • SU! Brushed Brass Butterflies
  • Gold Paper from Michaels
  • Sizzix Nesting Dies

*I've had the hardest time finding the exact shade of forest green card stock and I finally found some that I love HERE on Amazon. Usually their card stock is on the thin side, but this is great!

I'm really happy to have made these. It's nice to have a special envelope for those times when a special offering comes up!

And here are close-ups of each envelope:

This one has some very fine gold thread behind the scripture. It's hard to see but it's a really fun look!

This one features a gold piece of elastic twine with is good for giving the envelope extra security.

This one is my favorite with the thick embellishments and the little bow.

And before I go, I want to give a shout out to Michaels. I've gotten some amazing deals this year. this 12 x 12 paper pack was on sale for just $5.00. I bought about five others as well. It's so nice to have paper on hand rather than having to run to the store.

We'd love to have you play along with us, so hop on over to Word Art Wednesday and join the fun!

Sunflower Season For Word Art Wednesday

It's Wednesday again, and over at Word Art Wednesday for weeks 764 and 765 we have another great challenge going on. This time our sponsor is Stamp Simply and they're giving away a $25.00 gift to their shop! But you don't have to use their products to play along with us for this challenge. It's always "anything goes," so grab your stamps and join in the fun!

For my card this round I used the Stamp Simply Sunflower Season Stamps and colored them with Copic Markers. Fussy cutting them out was fun for me! Then I mounted them on Papertrey's Spring Rain card stock. The sentiment is from the same set, and the bird is from Stampin' Up!'s Everything Eleanor stamp set. The burlap was in my miscellaneous stash box. It's fairly wide, so I folded and ironed it flat. It just seemed fitting for sunflowers!

We'd love to have you join us over at Word Art Wednesday, and maybe you'll even win some free stuff!

Thanks so much for stopping by, and have a wonderful day!

Word Art Wednesday Weeks #762 & #763

Welcome back to another week at Word Art Wednesday! This week is a little bit different in that our sponsor is a UK based company called Stix 2 Anything. They’re offering a wonderful prize package to our international players, but if you’re here in the US, no worries. Karen will be providing a wonderful prize to you as well. She hasn’t revealed what it is yet, but knowing her she has some wonderful things in store. So be sure to join us and play along!

Having said that, I’m taking the easy way out this week. I have created a card front using the scripture and an image that I generated with AI on an app called ChatGPT. Normally, I do most of my digital designs on an app called Canva, which I totally love. I think they must have millions of images to choose from. But I wanted something very specific for this Bible verse so I asked ChatGPT to create some images for me. The first two were really good, but they were a little darker than I wanted them to be. I went ahead and included them because it was a rainy day and it just seemed to be fitting. But it is July and ultimately I wanted something bright and sunny so I asked one more time and it created this girl in front of the sun. I’m really pleased with the finished product.

Feel free to use any of these images below. And of course you can also use our scripture. But keep in mind you never have to use any of these things in order to play along with us. We are always an “Anything Goes” challenge!

For my card here today, I printed out the graphic at my local FedEx store. I then trimmed it down and mounted it on Stampin’ Up!’s Pretty Peacock Card Stock. I then cut out a scallop square using the Stampin’ Up! Square Dies. The pink piece of paper that I have imposed with a Darice embossing folder is from Lawn Fawn called Ballet Slippers. The card base is Pretty Peacock again. Easy peasy!

Here’s the scripture if you would like to include it in your creations:

Here are the free digis. As always:

  1. Snag it to your desktop or photos.
  2. Put it in a Word or Pages Document.
  3. Resize it to the size card you want to make.
  4. Print it out, either at home or at a copy center.

Thanks so much for stopping by today, and don’t forget to join us over at Word Art Wednesday. We love seeing all the beautiful things that each of you create!

Word Art Wednesday & Miss Ink Giveaway

Today over at Word Art Wednesday we have a new challenge and a new sponsor! Miss Ink Stamps is giving away a $25.00 gift certificate to a randomly chosen winner for this challenge. They have so many fun things in their shop, including this really cool die that makes card making so simple.

The Miss Ink Die Set that I used here is called the Hi Swirl Frame Die. I chose it because I really do enjoy using simple products that are really versatile, and this set has it all. I wanted to create a fun and quick card with a patriotic theme. All I had to do was pull out a few coordinating papers, a couple of solids, and presto, I have a really cute card!

I did use a few of the flowers that came with the die set, but I really don't think I've done them justice. The background is really busy, so I didn't want to overpower that, but the little flowers and leaves that come with this set have endless possibilities of cuteness!

The patterned paper is from Photo Play and I used solid color Bazzill Card Stock. The raffia ribbon is from so very long ago that I don't remember the company. (Remember when raffia was so popular. I still love it!)

I'm also playing along with a few other great challenges this month. First,  Colorful Options has an optional theme of Red, White and Blue-and there are some variations of that too. And of course you can always just do a rainbow of colors there as well.

Next at Word Power your sentiment has to be the biggest and most noticeable thing on your card. Other than that, anything goes!

Then over at Darnell's NBUS Challenge there is a HUGE prize giveaway to celebrate all the wonderful craft making companies that keep our hands busy! And since I just purchased this die set, it qualifies as my NBUS item.

Be sure to check out all these great challenges, and we'd love to have you play along with us at Word Art Wednesday. You don't have to use our sponsor's products or our scripture below. Anything goes! We love seeing the beautiful things that you create!

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Pretty Little Studio Giveaway!

It's time for another round of fun over at Word Art Wednesday! This time we have a prize from a company called Pretty Little Studio. I wasn't familiar with their products at first, so I went to their website and fell in love! I placed a small and very reasonable order and was able to get a lot of wonderful goodies.

I love working with ephemera. It's beautiful, easy and inexpensive. You can make some amazing cards quickly and have a greater variety of looks in your card making stash. The products I chose are:

Pretty Little Studio Centerpiece Florals

Pretty Little Studio Journaling Comfort Cards

Pretty Little Studio Home Accents

Pretty Little Studio ‘Twas The Night Before Scalloped Stickers

These four items were so reasonably priced and I have so much more leftover. I'l really looking forward to creating a lot of Christmas cards this fall. And, I've already seen some other things on their website that I'd love to have.

In addition, I used Michaels Kraft card stock for my base. It's an A9 size card, which is an 8.5 x 11 sheet folded right in half. It is mailable, but it costs a tad bit more. I'm hoping to be able to send this for around $2.50 this year. Or perhaps I'll hand deliver it! I also threw on a few old Stampin' Up! embellishments for texture.

Be sure to check out Pretty Little Studio. You'll fall in love with so many things! And we'd love to have you play along with us at Word Art Wednesday too! As always, anything goes. You can use our scripture below if you like, but you don't have to use it or products from our sponsor. Just come over and play along with us!

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Happy Father's Day Card From Word Art Wednesday

Today's card was inspired by the scripture that we are sharing over at Word Art Wednesday this round. I took the verse and decided to make a Father's Day card with it. I used the digital platform called Canva. They have a free version, a paid subscription, or you can pay for most images for just a dollar or so. It's so much fun and so very creative.

But before I go any further, I want to thank Waffle Flower for being our sponsor this month! You can't miss all their amazing stamps, dies and stencils as you wanter around in blogland. Their postage collection is so cool and it's definitely on my "to buy" list. We're giving away a $15.00 prize to anything in their store, so be sure to play along!

Here's my supply list for this card:

  • Stampin' Up! Shaded Spruce Card Stock
  • SU! Crushed Curry Card Stock
  • Michaels Brown Card Stock
  • Printed Graphic with Bible Verse
  • Brads
  • Unbranded Arrow Dies (Amazon)**

Here's the scripture by itself:

And just below is my free digital printable. As always:

  1. Snag it to your desktop or photos.
  2. Put it in a Word or Pages Document.
  3. Resize it to the size card you want to make.
  4. Print it out, either at home or at a copy center.
I hope you enjoy the freebie! Remember that all images are for personal use only, please!

We'd love to have you join us over at Word Art Wednesday. You don't need to use the scripture, or use Waffle Flower products. All of our challenges are "anything goes."

Thanks for stopping by my blog today and have a wonderful day!

** I try not to purchase unbranded merchandise anymore because I'm not sure it's not pirated. But at the time that I bought these dies I wasn't aware of that. I don't have any proof that these are pirated, so I thought that tossing out the dies would be silly.

Word Art Wednesday Offering Envelope & Personal Story

Hi there crafty friends! Today there's a new challenge over at Word Art Wednesday, and we have a wonderful sponsor again. Pretty Pink Posh is giving away a $30.00 gift certificate towards anything in their store, and they have some really cute things. I was just over at their site and on May 14 they have some new releases coming out. You'll see the snail if you go there. Oh my, he is so cute! You'll definitely want to go over and check them out!

And as always, our challenge is "anything goes" with the option of using the Bible verse, which is what I did this round. However, instead of making a card I made an envelope-specifically an offering envelope. A while back I used to make all my offering envelopes, usually using scraps that I had on my craft table. I've gotten away from that, but after seeing this scripture, I thought it would be a perfect match.

I'm also playing along with NBUS (Never Before Used Schtuff) because I just got this Spellbinders Die Set for Mother's Day this past weekend. (I bought it for myself of course!) And I'm also playing along over at Triple B (Birds, Blooms or Butterflies) because of all the blooms on this.

Before I go any further, I'd love to share a personal experience about this scripture in my own life. It's a little hard to talk about, but I think it may help others who may be going through similar experiences.

Back in the 1990's and 2000's things were really good for me and my family. We were making a fairly good salary and things were cheaper. The home where we raised our kids costs twice our annual income. Today that would be impossible. We easily afforded moderate vacations every year. Mostly a drive to Florida to visit the grandparents, but a trip to Disney for several days was not out of the question. Life was really good.

I attributed much of that prosperity to the fact that we gave regularly to our church. This scripture was part of that reasoning. Then troubles came. Nothing devastating. But my husband's company decided that they could make more money if they sent his job to India. He actually flew there for two weeks to train people to take over for him. He was laid off, but thankfully not for long.

A few years later layoffs happened again, only this time he wasn't rehired. He tried for months to find a job locally in Pennsylvania, but to no avail. He broadened his search to anywhere in the United States and continued to apply diligently. Again, nothing. Panic mode was setting in for me, who was homeschooling my kids at the time and didn't have an opportunity land a lucrative job.

We decided to move back to Florida, my home state. My parents were here and I had a job at their small business. I was even able to juggle homeschooling and full time work for a little while. Clark continued to look for work, but boy was it tough. He got a temporary job with a decent salary, but no healthcare for our family of four.

Finally it seemed that God had mercy on us and he landed the job that he has now. He's been with the same amazing company for 12 years, and indeed, we are blessed. Not with money so much. His salary is almost half of what we had up north. But God is faithful.

So is this scripture true? Indeed I can say yes, but maybe not exactly in the way we think it should be. I created this picture that perfectly illustrates the way I feel about God's will and provision in our lives. I've seen the concept elsewhere but couldn't find it. Thankfully Canva helped me get the point across!

Feel free to share this!

I hope my personal story has been a blessing to you. I tried to keep it short. There are many more details. But the end is, God is indeed faithful. We may hit some bumps along the way, but if we trust Him, we'll make it to the top of that hill!

The supplies for my card are simple:

  • Brown Dotted Kraft Scrapbook Paper
  • Word Art Wednesday Bible Verse (below)
  • Spellbinders Be Bold Blooms Dies
  • Stampin' Up! Envelope Board
  • Stampin' Up! Black Card Stock
  • SU! Shy Shamrock Card Stock
  • SU! Daffodil Delight Card Stock
  • SU! Calypso Coral Card Stock
  • SU! Mango Medley Card Stock
  • SU! Soft Suede Card Stock

Please be sure to go on over to Word Art Wednesday. We'd love to have you play along with us! And if you'd like, here's our scripture for this round:

Thanks so much for stopping by and sharing in a bit of my life!

Word Art Wednesday & Happy April Fools Day

Wow, here we are in April already! And for those silly enough to celebrate, Happy April Fools Day! And it's time for another round of fun over at Word Art Wednesday. This time, we have a great prize from a great company called Birch Press Designs. They're giving away a $20.00 gift certificate to a randomly drawn winner. When you see how cute their stuff is, you'll definitely want to play along.

When I homeschooled my kids years ago, I always did something fun for this holiday. Now that they're grown and gone, I really don't do much. The older you get the less you want to be caught off guard. Perhaps I fear it could trigger a heart attack or at least a fall, neither of which we want!

But one fun thing I can do is make cards to celebrate.

However for this card I took a more serious approach. I thought about a famous quote that I heard from somewhere in time about not being a fool for following Christ. I traced it back to the famous missionary Jim Elliot. AI summed it up better than I ever could:

Jim Elliot, an American missionary, was speared to death on January 8, 1956, along with four other missionaries (Nate Saint, Ed McCully, Roger Youderian, and Pete Fleming) by the Waodani (formerly Auca) tribe in Ecuador, during an attempt to evangelize them; their deaths became a significant event in the modern missions movement, inspiring many to follow in their footsteps, with Elliot's widow later returning to live among the tribe and leading many to Christianity.

His famous quote was written in his journal seven years before his death. While very few of us will meet his fate, his words about what foolishness means is true for us today. Living for God  is never foolishness, even though at times others may question our commitment to Him.

It is my hope to send this to someone in ministry someday. I wanted to keep it masculine so it would be appropriate for a guy as well.

Here’s my  complete supply list:

  • My Mind’s Eye and Misc. Patterned Paper
  • Speckletone True White Card Stock
  • Computer Generated Image (below)
  • Stampin' Up! Soft Suede Ink
  • SU! Splendid Thoughts Stamp Set
  • SU! Splendid Stems Dies
  • Memento Desert Sand Ink
  • Memento Toffee Crunch Ink
  • Bronze Paper (Hobby Lobby)
  • Gold Paper (Joann's)
  • SU! Metallic Pearls
  • Ranger Gold Embossing Powder

And if you're interested, you can make your own using this simple sentiment:

And if you would like to use our scripture for this round, feel free to grab it here:

We would love to have you join us over at Word Art Wednesday. We are always “anything goes” and There are always great prizes to win!

Thanks so much for stopping by, and have a blessed day!

Word Art Wednesday Easter Card

There's a new challenge going on over at Word Art Wednesday, and this round's sponsor is a company called Stix 2 Anything. They are a UK company that is giving away a generous adhesive package. And if you're like me, adhesive is something that I go through very quickly and can never have too much of.

For my card, I started with the Bible verse that Word Art Wednesday provided. Then I created the word  Jesus in Canva. It has a slight arch to it, and the font is called Mervale Script.  I ran this through the printer twice, knowing that I would cut it down to a 5 x 7 card. I thought I had plenty of room, but looking at it after I got the 3 images on the top, I wish I had made the printing a bit lower. That's why the pink hearts are there, to kind of balance it out.

Word Art Wednesday with Not 2 Shabby

Welcome back, stamping friends! This time at Word Art Wednesday we have a returning sponsor. Not 2 Shabby has  graciously supplied us with a $25.00 gift certificate to spend at their wonderful online store. One thing I love about Not 2 Shabby Is that their products make creating wonderful cards so very easy. They have a wonderful assortment of coordinating ephemera, patterned papers and stamps.

For my card, I used two of their products. The first one is called Serene Escape Ephemera. Adding to that, I used the Serene Escapes Patterned Paper. I finished off the card with a purple card stock base and frame from Michaels. The sentiment is from a Stampin’ Up! Set called Hello. Easy peasy!

Be sure to hop on over to Word Art Wednesday and play along with us. We have a lovely scripture that you can use, but it’s never required. Neither is using any of the products from our sponsor. Just play along and have fun!

Word Art Wednesday with The Stamps of Life!

Welcome to my blog! Today's card is made for Word Art Wednesday's Weeks 738 & 739 Challenge. As many of you know, every two weeks (or fortnightly as they say in England, which sounds so much better) we have a new "Anything Goes" Challenge that features a giveaway from a sponsor. This round our sponsor is The Stamps of Life and they're giving away $25.00! So be sure to come over and join us!

My card this round is made using the scripture that Word Art Wednesday provided. It's a scripture about love-perfect for 10 days before Valentine's Day.

I make cards all year long of course, but every time I make a Valentine's Day card I feel like a little kid cutting and glueing everything. Definitely a throwback from my childhood days. And making this card was no exception.

I have a supply list, but when it comes to Valentine's Day, I'm always saving scraps and such and not keeping track of where everything comes from. I do know however, that 4 of the 5 patterned papers for this came from Stampin' Up! A few years ago they featured a DSP set that included golds, peaches, pinks and muted purples. I fell in love with that and so the few leftover scraps that I have here are from that pack. Here's my best shot at what I used:

  • Bible Verse From Word Art Wednesday
  • White Core Plum Colored Card Stock (Michaels?)
  • Gold Card Stock (Michaels)
  • Stampin' Up! DSP
  • Stampin' Up! Bubble Bath Ink
  • Heart Patterned Paper (Hobby Lobby?)
  • Honeycomb Glitter Card Stock (Probably Joann, whom I miss so very much!)
  • Stampin' Up! Berry Burst Card Stock
  • Flat Plastic Enamel-like Hearts (gifted to me)
  • Gold Bow (gifted to me)

Fun facts about this card:

It's a 5 x 7, which I've started making more of. It's fun to have a bit more "canvas" to work with sometimes.

After cutting out the scripture freehand, I thought it looked a little uneven which is why I shaded the edges with the Bubble Bath ink.

It was my hope that the placement of the papers in a haphazard fashion would resemble someone walking, thus tying in with the scripture about walking in love.

Well that's all for today. I'm so glad you stopped by and we would love it if you stopped by Word Art Wednesday and played along with us!

Oh, and if you'd like to use the scripture feel free to snag it below!

Word Art Wednesday's First 2026 Challenge!

Before we begin, I have to announce the winners of the word art Wednesday annual blog hop challenge. They are Donna in Florida who won the Pink and Main stamp set and dies, and Cynthia in Alaska who won the Picket Fence and Simon Says Stamp stamps. Wow, we have really covered the whole country here! Congratulations to each of you! These winners are just from my blog, so if you played along with others, be sure to check them out as well.

So today over at Word Art Wednesday we have our first challenge of 2026! The prize this round is from a UK company called Bramble Fox. They have lots of really fun stuff and I believe some of it is downloadable, which is perfect for us here across the pond!

My card is made using our Bible Verse from Romans 12:2. It's a scripture that I memorized years ago when I was a young Christian back in the 1980's, so it's very special to me.

I recently discovered how to change our scriptures (or any black image) to color. I use Canva Pro and "Edit" the image. Then I click "Effects" and choose "Duotone." From there you'll see color choices and you can type in any hex number to make your image any color. I was so excited when I learned how to do this!

Anyway, here's my complete supply list:

  • Word Art Wednesday Bible Verse (below)
  • Paige Evans Patterned Paper
  • Stampin' Up! Balmy Blue Card Stock
  • SU! Azure Afternoon Card Stock
  • Pink & Main Arch Dies
  • SU! Bloom & Gorw Stamps & Dies
  • Copics, B21, B95, Y13, YG13, R85

Even though it's not one of my favorite colors, I chose blue this time because it reminds me of snowy days in Pennsylvania in January. I do miss the snow, but hubby is happy here in Florida, so that's good.

We're looking forward to having you come on over to Word Art Wednesday and play along as we kick off our first challenge of the new year!

Seth Apter Inspired November Pillow

This time over at Word Art Wednesday we have a wonderful giveaway from Seth Apter! He's an amazing designer with so many products from wonderful card making supplies to spectacular fabrics. I was inspired to create this pillow because of this fabric.

Sewing was my first hobby in life. When I was 10 years old I used what little fabric I could find, and my grandmother's sewing machine, to make little things. I loved the idea of taking virtually nothing and turning it into something pretty. By the time I was 15, I had a job at Cloth World and was using patterns to sew real clothes.

One of the few photos I have from my early sewing days. I'm on

Today I don't sew as much, but when I went to Seth Apter's website, I was so intrigued by the wonderful array of fabrics that he designs. I chose one that inspired me this fall, then found a cross stitch pattern to go along with it.

I then chose the colors of DMC floss based on the colors of the fabric. Here they are:

It's really easy to order any of his fabrics at his online store, but I am fortunate to live near Whim-So-Doodle, a quilting store in St. Petersburg that carries his whole line. Both places sell his fabric at really reasonable prices. And what I love about it is that it's so soft and tightly woven. Such good quality! It took just 1/2 a yard to complete this project.

The Box & Fox pattern I chose for the cross stitch was on sale for just $1.80 for a digital download in their Etsy shop. I love using those because I can really make the pattern quite large on my iPad. You can find it HERE, although the price may be different.

If you do look at this pattern, you'll notice that in addition to using different colors of thread, I also kept each image to just one or two colors. Her pattern has several colors in each leaf, but because I was in a hurry to finish this project I didn't have time for that!

As for the pillow itself, I upcycled a pillow that I had on my couch. It was one that I got for free in a bedspread set. I didn't really care for it, but kept it anyway and I'm glad I did. It was perfect for this project.

Before and after for the small pillow. Definitely an improvement!

The finishing touch is the buttons, which came from my vintage button jar. They're genuine mother-of-pearl that have been sitting for most likely decades. I love using things like that because, although they are inanimate objects, they've finally come full circle and I'd like to think that they're happy to finally be on display!

So that's it for my pillow post. I loved exploring the world of Seth Apter, and we're super grateful to him for sponsoring our challenge this time around. However, our challenges are always "anything goes" and we'd love to have you come over and play along with us!

If you're looking for some inspiration, here if the featured Bible verse that you're welcome to use. I absolutely love the fonts that this one is written in!

Thanks so much for stopping by, and have a wonderful day!
