4th of July Freebie & My Card From It

Here in the United States it will be the 4th of July before we know it, and if you're looking for a free graphic to send to someone, or if you'd like to make a cute card, here's a freebie that I made and you're welcome to use it.

The paper was quite a bit more subtle  than
I wanted. I was tempted to run to the
store, but decided I could color what I had.
After printing the graphic and FedEx and trimming it down, I added some embellishments that I had on hand. I started with a Michaels sheet of patterned paper for the background. It wasn't as blue as I wanted it to be, so I colored it in with some Memento Summer Sky ink and a blending brush. It worked like a charm!

Next I added some bandana style washi tape to the bottom. Nothing seems to shout America like a red bandana.

I then framed the image by cutting squares of blue, white and red card stock and mounting them on. After realizing that there wasn't any black in the image I made, I added some little black dots to the red card stock to give it a pulled together look.

Next I emphasized the fireworks in the background by streaking on some Diamond Stickles. I then added a few of Stampin' Up!'s foam stars. You really can't see them too much, so I think some peel and stick gems would have been better.

Here you can get a better view of the glitter
and foam stars.

Lastly, the bow was made from some ribbon that a friend from church gave me. I wished it was a bit more bold blue rather than the smoky color that it is, but again, I was all about using the supplies that I had on hand to make this piece.

For reference, this is a 5 x 7 card, but keep in mind that you can resize the digital image to any size you need for printing. And it's the perfect size as is for sending a digital greeting.

Below is the the free digi. As always:

  1. Snag it to your desktop or photos.
  2. Put it in a Word or Pages Document.
  3. Resize it to the size card you want to make.
  4. Print it out, either at home or at a copy center.
I hope you enjoy the freebie! Remember that all images are for personal use only, please! Thanks for stopping by my blog today and have a wonderful day!
