Lattice Butterfly for Two Challenges

Today's card is made for two specific challenges. First, over at the Cut It Up Challenge their theme (in addition to using a die in your project) is to create your own background. I did that by using a large lattice die and cutting a white background out, then layering it over white. It's a fun, summer-y look that is perfect for the CAS on Sunday Challenge, where their theme is to use only die cuts and a word stamp. No stamped images allowed. These two challenges paired perfectly with each other!

My supply list is

  • Michaels White Card Stock
  • Pink & Main Sticker Paper
  • Pink & Main Fancy Lattice Die
  • Spellbinders Be Bold Flower Dies
  • Stampin' Up! Butterfly Thinlits Die
  • SU! Daffodil Delight Card Stock
  • SU! Pumpkin Pie Card Stock
  • SU! Peaceful Pine Card Stock & Ink
  • SU! Lemon Lolly Card Stock
  • SU! Pear PIzzazz Card Stock
  • My Favorite Things Oval Die
  • Verve Sentiment

For added dimension, I only used the sticker paper in the middle of the butterfly, so his wings could bend outwards. It's a sweet look that doesn't require extra postage!

Thanks so much for stopping by and be sure to check out all the lovely cards at these two challenges!

  3. Very pretty! I love your gorgeous butterfly with the flower and sprigs for antennae!! So fun! Your background is also fabulous! Die cutting it out of white and adding it on top of white gives it an embossed look. Thanks for playing with Cut It Up Challenge.
